Surgery

Yesterday we had a patient with mesial temporal lobe sclerosis.  The instrument in the image is pointing at the superior temporal gyrus where the tissue for the experiment was removed from.  To prove that we never know how the experiment is going to go, I didn't  believe the experiment would go well (we had some delays getting the tissue), but I was wrong. Within 2 hours the first section of tissue was producing activity, and worked for 7! yes 7 hours!  Thanks Rashid and Rachel for helping with the experiment (all 14 hours of it).
